Account Settings

Access your account settings from the Profile menu.

Add/change profile photo​

You can add or change a profile photo by clicking Change within the Photo section. We recommend you select an image that is 256 x 256 pixels.

Add/change nickname​

  1. Click within the Nickname field on the Account Settings screen.
  2. Enter a nickname. It must contain at least 3 characters and no more than 16 characters.
  3. Click Update.

Change email address​

  1. Click within the Password field on the Account Settings screen.
  2. Enter your new email address, then click Update.

  3. Enter your password to confirm the change, then click Update.

  4. Check your new email address inbox for a message from Coil, with the subject line "Confirm your new email address".
  5. Click Confirm your email.
  6. Check your old email address inbox for a message from Coil, with the subject line "Your email has been changed". You'll now sign in to your Coil account using your new email address.

Change password​

  1. Click within the Password field on the Account Settings screen.
  2. Enter the email address associated with your Coil account and click Send email.

  3. Check your email for a message from Coil, with the subject line "Password Reset".
  4. Click Reset password within the message.
  5. Enter your new password. You must choose a strong password with at least 8 characters. To estimate password strength, we look for common names, repeating and sequential characters (e.g., 1111, abcd), keyboard patterns (e.g, qwerty) and a few other things.

  6. Click Change password.

Delete account​

If you're paying for a membership, deleting your account automatically cancels your membership.

  1. Click Delete.
  2. Click Delete Account on the confirmation screen.

  3. Check your email for a message from Coil, with the subject line "Request to delete your Coil account".
  4. Click Delete account within the message.

  5. Follow the instructions on the subsequent page. Depending on how you signed up for an account, you'll be asked to either enter your password or type delete as the final step.

You'll receive a second email from Coil when your account has been deleted.
