Get a Membership

Overview

You need a Coil Membership to support web monetized sites and to access Coil Member exclusives, such as videos on Cinnamon and ad-free browsing on Imgur.

You don't need a Coil Membership to earn money on your own web monetized content or to receive payments from Coil Members.

Your membership must be paid by card in US dollars. We accept most cards issued by the major credit card networks. We're working on offering you more payment options in the future.

New account

Follow these steps if you don't have a Coil account.

  1. Go to the Coil homepage and click Become a member.Click become a member
  2. Enter your email address and a password.

    You must choose a strong password with at least 8 characters. You'll receive a message if your password isn't strong enough. To estimate password strength, we look for common names, repeating and sequential characters (e.g., 1111, abcd), keyboard patterns (e.g, qwerty) and a few other things.

  3. Agree to our Terms of Service and Privacy Policy, then click Next.
  4. Enter the confirmation code sent to your email.

  5. Click Go to Settings, then select Membership.Select membership animation
  6. Click Add payment method.
  7. Enter your card details, then click Start Coil membership for $5/month.Enter credit card details animation
  8. Install the Coil Extension.

Existing account

Follow these steps if you already have a free Coil account and want to sign up for a membership.

  1. Log in to your Coil account, click Go to Settings, then select Membership.Select membership animation
  2. Click Add payment method, enter your card details, then click Subscribe for $5/month.Enter credit card details animation
